PROSPECTUS 2022-2023
With the increasing number of hill students seeking higher quality education, the “Darjeeling Hills Education Society” felt the need to cater to the growing demands of the aspirants as such Ghoom Jorebunglow College was established on 11th September 2004, keeping in mind the convenience of students residing in the outskirts of the town, the college with its ideal location fulfilled the necessity. The college is situated in a beautiful location comprising of one acre of land at the foot of tiger tops. Situated at an altitude of 7412 mtrs. The campus is surrounded by the lofty mountains and beautiful green and scenic environment of pine trees and rhododendrons. The town “Ghoom” which boasts of being the second highest railway station in the world, enjoying the Heritage status is in a strategic location for a centre of higher education. At present, the college is a affiliated to North Bengal University and under the Higher Education Department Gorkhaland Territorial Administration, Darjeeling

SEMESTER SYSTEM
An Academic Session (Year) is divided into Two Semesters
- July to December – Semesters I, III and V – Odd Semesters
- January to June – Semesters II, IV and VI Even Semesters
- Each Semester is a period of Six Months containing a cycle of
- At least 90 days of actual teaching / instruction
- Conduct of Internal Assessment and Semester End Exams
- Declaration of performance result in the Semester by issuing Grade Card.
HONOURS PROGRAM COURSE
A candidate who has obtained 55% marks in aggregate or 50 % in aggregate with 60% marks in a subject in the last qualifying Examination shall be eligible to apply for Honours Program in that subject
A candidate shall not be allowed to pursue B.A. Honours Program Course if one has passed the qualifying examination in Vocational Streams subjects.
PROGRAM COURSE
A Candidate is eligible to apply if He/She has passed in at least four (04) subjects excluding English as Compulsory subject in 10+2 Examination.
A candidate shall be allowed to pursue Only B.A. Program Course if on has passed the qualifying examination in Vocational Streams subjects.
SESSION GAP
For admission there should not be a gap for more than 3 years–(10+2 Examinations must passed not later than – 2018)for admission to Under Graduate course of study.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Admission forms must be filled ON-LINE.Visit website: www.ghoomjorebunglowcollege.com for details.
Selected list, purely made on the basis of merit, will be published on the college website and notice board. Students are advised to check the college website frequently for all the college related updates.
Selected students are to pay the admission fees through online payment mode to the designated bank in the college website portal within the stipulated time.
Based on the availability of seats a second or third list will be published.
FORM FILLING
A Student may apply for more than one Honours subject but each application is to be made through separate online application forms.
Application forms are to be filled in and submitted only online through the College website : www.ghoomjorebunglowcollege.com
The application will be registered for further processing only after the payment of the Application Fee. The Application Fee of Rs. 250/- should be paid through online payment mode to the designated Bank.
Forms for which the application fee is not paid will not be registered.
Once the application fee is paid, no refund can be claimed for any reason.
Ensure to take a printout of the filled-in application form along with the payment receipt after successful online submission.
Any wrong entry or manipulation in the application form (in marks obtained in class XII or in the categories ) will result in the cancellation of the form and the admission.
